Interior Design
Create an environment that reflects, Who you were, Who you are, Or
who you want to be now.
PHILOSOPHY:
Free Modification Design, Inc. was created in 2000 in Denver,
Colorado. Free Modification means utilizing changes to create
environments so you can live in many different worlds during your
lifetime. You can become suddenly interested in antiques, when you
used to love only minimalism. You cannot imagine being surrounded by
any other color than white and using only modern furnishings.
Design is an incredibly important part of everyone’s lives. Almost
every item we pick up, or sit on, or gaze upon, or turn on was
created by another human being. Studying the spaces before beginning
a project, seeing how rooms flow and how space is used, seeing how
light moves throughout a space, and understanding clients allows any
type of design to progress.
Modifying an idea enables one to create endless possibilities. Being
aware of the environment and designing for the future is of the
utmost importance in design. Respecting the environment, respecting
the planet, and respecting the incredibly talented architects in the
world that are creating wonderful, safe, sustainable projects is
part of the goal of Free Modification, Inc.
Modern - Mid-Century - Contemporary
ABOUT ME:
I am Marrion Irons, owner of Free Modification, Inc.
I moved to Denver in the early 1980’s after working for an outdoor
advertising company painting signs and billboards. I then moved to
fabulous Los Angeles for a number of years, and am back in Denver
(which is fabulous in its own way).
When living in Los Angeles, I was employed by Princess Cruises as
the assistant to the design director while going to school for the
U.C.L.A. Interior Design Program. Given the opportunity to learn
from great instructors, and being exposed to many design concepts
and ideas, plus living in a city that is so rich in color and
diversity, my creative talents began to flourish.
Upon moving back to Denver, I became an associate with a wonderful
design firm that worked with clients who preferred a more
traditional style. Eventually realizing that I needed to take
another avenue in design, I decided to start my own design firm in
2000.
Having a talent to create fun, lively, sophisticated, comfortable
spaces for clients, I always keep in mind each and every client’s
needs, wants, and dreams. Given the chance to think about a new
space and work outside of my comfort zone allows me to work with a
client to help push them out of their comfort zone a little. Or a
lot. Traveling to other cities and countries has given me wonderful
insight into what each project can become by integrating the varying
design styles I have seen.
I have always had a love of art, design, and the sense of recycling
products. I strive to re-use items to create new pieces, re-design
existing furniture, or refinish older furniture and items. The
integration of antiques can make an environment especially unique,
even if it is ultra modern. I encourage green design and always try
to integrate some sort of environmental awareness into each item I
purchase or design. I am very gay friendly! I also like pets,
children, and good people.
My design skills allow me to design projects in all areas, including
new construction, remodels, residential design and décor, office
design and décor, furniture design, faux finishing and general
interior painting. I treat each project the same: attention to
detail, respect for the client’s wishes, and excellence in design.
I have designed homes in Denver, Aspen, Ft. Collins, Boulder, and
other cities throughout the state of Colorado. I have also worked on
projects in California. The experience I can bring to a design
project will be worthwhile to anyone wanting a unique, personal,
comfortable, enticing space or product.
